New central railway suburban timetable book has arrived. One can buy this book from any bookstall at station for Rs.8. This pocket timetable will be available only for month or so. This will not be available for entire year.

Dear commuters,

Our efforts have always been to ease passenger congestion in our Suburban Trains and therefore , we have substantially increased the total number of services to 1956. We have also increased our 12 car services to 919. To further fillip our endeavor we have introduced the first 15 car rake providing 16 fast services in the Mumbai CST – Kalyan section. We have been continuously trying to improve our punctuality and reliability and results you can see. You are requested to keep this pocket timetable updated by referring the sheet timetables displayed at all suburban stations.

Late Night & Sunday Travel

Improvement work for tracks, signaling equipment, overhead electrical equipment etc., is a continuous job which inevitably, cause some disruption. We will do all we can to keep this to a minimum, but, as most maintenance/updating/renewal work take place late at night and on Sundays, you are requested to double check your schedule before travelling at these times. Prior to commencement of your journey kindly refer to radio, print media, television & on for updates on the affected section. To keep up services upto your expectations, you are requested to co-operate with us.


Every effort will be made to ensure punctuality but the administration can not guarantee that the trains will start or arrive at the time specified in the timetable at all times. We can not undertake responsibility for any loss, injury or inconvenience  arising directly or indirectly from delay or detention to passengers or their property.  The right to stop any train at any station is reserved.

    We request you to please make 8.24am train to halt at Mulund which starts from Ambernath. There is only one train between 8am to 9.30am i.e at 8.10am which halts at mulund,there is a gap of 1hr 24mins and also there are no slow trains inbetween. everyday we have to change the train in Thane to reach Mulund,number of people travel everday to Mulund which is considered to be the central place of Mumbai as this city connects with Mumbai suburban, Harbour line & also the western line. Resheduling the Trains has created a mess and inconvenience for the commuters. It is our humble request to please increase the Mulund halting trains.

  3. One thing baffles me. Why has the Railways kept the First Class Single Ticket Suburban Fare as TEN TIMES of Second Class Fare since the last 12 years ? Against a Single Fare of Rs.45/- for 10 KM , the 1st Class Monthly Pass oosts Rs.270/- only for 10 KM i.e. 3 Days Return Ticket is equal to 30 Days Monthly Pass and it works out 2nd Class Single Ticket fare which is ridiculous. Due to this irrational Fare, only Monthly Pass Holders can travel by 1st Class (at 2nd Class Fares) which they do during MORNING/EVENING ONE WAY PEAK HOURS. The rest of the day, three 1st Class Bogies in EACH TRAIN run ALMOST EMPTY and due to OVERCROWDING of 2nd Class Bogies, about 10 commuters daily fall out of the train and are killed / maimed for life. I have written to all the Railway Ministers, MP’s, Mun.Corporators,etc. since the last 12 years but NOONE has bothered to correct this anomaly TO SAVE HUMAN LIVES and allow II Class MUMBAI passengers to travel I Class at 4 times of 2nd class fare AS IN ALL TRAINS THROUGHOUT INDIA. Why this unnatural soft corner for 1st Class Mumbai Pass Holders 80% of whose fares are paid by their employers i.e.Railways/Govt. Depts., Banks, Corporate Co.etc. ?

  4. All Railway Booking Windows show the Working Hours of each Window but about 50% windows remain closed during their working hours almost everyday, leading to long queues at other Windows. Whose duty is it to check that these windows operate ? If the Station Master has no time to check this, he should take help from the RPF or numerous railway users associations in each suburb or Mun.Corporator.

  5. There is only one train in the office/peak time on morning at 8.25am from bhyander which is almost comming full from mira road station(so called return wale).So requesting you to start a train near about at 8.0 am ,because in virara train no can enterd as the train got full from virar.

  7. So many trains are not going to halt at Ghatkopar . why 15 car train are not going to halt at Ghatkopar which is 6:00 am fast train to kalyan . Why 7:25 am not going to halt at ghatkopar . this train coming from thane . this train halts in vikhroli why not in Ghatkopar ? after that so many trains halts in vikhroli . Why not halts in Ghatkopar ?

    mam i m daily travelling by train from the college purpose there was no train between 6:31 to 6:54 from ambernath to kalyan in the morning get very rush plz make one more train between 6:31 to 6:54 for the college students…..

    The frequency of trains in harbour route varies between five to 15 minutes,the neon displayboard in platforms should indicate arrival time of two consecutive trins with destinations so that the cummuters can choose among the two depending upon destination and waiting time .this will avoid the entire crowd trying to board an already overflowing crowded train and the following train in just few minutes runs emty.
    The accidents consequent to overcrowding can be avoided.
    This is by no means difficullt ffor the railways with advanced technology in place

  14. how do i travel from panvel to bandra terminus by loca; train

    • Board Panvel-Andheri Local Train at Panvel and enroute alight at Bandra Station, catch an auto (minimum fare) or one can walk also upto Bandra Terminus.

    Please increase frequency of Thane to Panvel Locals & Also make fast locals halts at khandeswar & mansarovar to get benefit to the people. All Karjt, Kasara & Khopoli locals also having fast but takes all halts after kalyan.
